Bio

Les Bloom is a jazz-influenced composer, saxophonist, and songwriter creating intimate, melody-driven music that blends classic jazz harmony with modern accessibility. His work emphasizes emotional clarity, atmosphere, and restraint – favoring mood and musical space over rigid genre boundaries.

Bloom’s musical foundation is deeply rooted in jazz. A lifelong woodwind player, he came up immersed in bebop, post-bop, and modern jazz, drawing inspiration from artists such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, and Michael Brecker. Over the years, he performed in numerous jazz ensembles while also playing in rock and pop bands, expanding his musical language beyond traditional jazz settings.

Alongside performing, Bloom developed as a songwriter, gradually shifting toward more song-centered material while retaining his jazz sensibility. His writing reflects both worlds – harmonically informed yet accessible, shaped by improvisation but grounded in melody and lyric.

His recent releases represent a new chapter: original songs reimagined through contemporary production, pairing warm vocals, expressive solos, and understated arrangements to create a late-night, listener-focused sound. These recordings grew out of revisiting decades of songwriting and bringing them forward with modern tools and fresh perspective.

Bloom’s music is designed to feel personal and inviting – timeless in spirit, grounded in the present – offering listeners a space to slow down, lean in, and connect.
